As a Los Angeles native, Chuck began his career as an artist almost a decade ago. Heavily inspired by music, he started sketching in his senior year of high school, while listening to the sounds of electronic/industrial music such as Skinny Puppy, Throbbing Gristle, Future Sound of London, Aphex Twin; etc. Needless to say, this type of music created a substantial purpose to create his art.
His artwork portrays remarkably dark and visceral themes. Inspired by powerfully emotional subject matters such as love, hate, life, death, pain, pleasure, evilness; etc. These subject matters have been transferred to many of his drawings and sketches. He sees his art a therapeutic agent keeping him emotionally stable while embracing the darker things in life. He is skilled in many mediums however he prefers to work with charcoal and pastels.
Chuck's work started to gain exposure as he began doing portraits of his favorite serial killers. This new endeavor has brought him to a status where he is now one of many artists contributing his talents in aiding these media icons to become more famous than they already are. At this time, he began creating two forms of artwork: Serial Killer Art and the Art of Chuck Hodi. He presently specializes in commission portraits and frequently shows at galleries throughout Southern California.
